Job summary

Brandon James seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor for our Epping office to lead cost planning, procurement strategy, and client reporting. You will manage valuations, variations and final accounts while guiding the design team and contractors across diverse projects.

The role requires UK consultancy/PQS experience, degree qualification in QS or related field, and MRICS status or active chartership. You will mentor juniors and drive business development.

Job description

A multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Epping office. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will become part of an experienced cost management team delivering projects across a varied mix of residential, commercial, education, healthcare and public-sector environments.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for commissions from initial feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account. Working directly with clients, consultants and contractors, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide commercially focused advice while maintaining control of budgets, programme implications and contractual matters throughout delivery.

This opportunity would suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong UK consultancy experience who is comfortable leading projects and managing client relationships independently. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will also have the opportunity to support junior team members, contribute to wider business development and play an important role within a well-established regional office.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

• Leading cost planning, estimating and feasibility exercises
• Preparing tender documentation and advising on procurement strategy
• Managing valuations, variations, change control and final accounts
• Producing clear cost reports and commercial advice for clients
• Leading client, design team and contractor meetings
• Managing projects across both pre- and post-contract stages
• Advising on JCT and other commonly used UK forms of contract
• Supporting and mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
• MRICS qualified or actively working towards chartership
• Strong UK consultancy / PQS experience
• Proven ability to manage projects with limited supervision
• Good knowledge of JCT contracts and procurement routes
• Strong client-facing, reporting and commercial skills
• Experience across residential, commercial, education, healthcare or public-sector projects would be advantageous
• Confident managing multiple commissions and priorities
