MERITUS are recruiting a Chief Quality Inspector to join our precision manufacturing client in Basildon, Essex. The role leads day-to-day inspection across the business, acts as the bridge between Quality Management and shop-floor inspectors, and spends time on the production floor ensuring components meet the highest standards before release.

You will mentor inspectors, drive root-cause investigations, and support continuous improvement within aerospace, defence, and commercial engineering

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Senior/Chief Inspector or similar.
• Proficient with CMM programming and interpretation of drawings.
• Experience leading or mentoring inspection teams.
• Aerospace/defence manufacturing exposure preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead day-to-day inspection across the business on the shop floor.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to inspectors.
• Read and interpret complex third-angle drawings and tolerances.
• Program and operate CMM equipment to support inspection activities.
• Support non-conformance investigations and root-cause analysis.
