Job summary

Adore Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a Chief Quality Inspector in Basildon, Essex. This hands-on leadership role manages a two-person Quality Inspectors team, overseeing first-off, in-process and final inspection while coordinating with Production and Engineering to uphold high quality standards.

You will own PPAP documentation, FAIRs and first article inspections, interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, and mentor the team to drive continual quality improvements in an aerospace precision

Qualifications

• Experience in precision engineering or aerospace manufacturing.
• Senior Quality Inspector or Chief Inspector or similar role.
• Hands-on dimensional inspection experience.
• Experience with FAIRs and First Article Inspection Reports.
• Working knowledge of PPAP.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience leading a small inspection team.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Aerospace experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of two Quality Inspectors and stay hands-on with inspection.
• Plan workloads and set daily priorities for the team.
• Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection.
• Own FAIRs / First Article Inspection Reports and PPAP submissions.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T and maintain quality records.
• Support nonconformance investigations and quality issues.
• Mentor and develop the inspection team and drive continuous improvement.
