Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive multi-team testing strategy and embed quality across design, development, and production. You will mentor teams, improve test automation, and promote end-to-end ownership of quality.

The role emphasizes Shift-Left and Shift-Right practices, observability, and a strong focus on non-functional requirements such as security, resilience, and performance. This is a remote-first role with a global team.

Qualifications

• Experience mentoring multiple engineering teams to improve quality practices at scale.
• Ability to address testing and process problems at the source with creative solutions.
• Practical experience with TDD, BDD, CI/CD pipelines, and Testing Pyramid.

Responsibilities

• Drive multi-team testing strategy and set practical quality standards across squads.
• Coach and upskill teams to build self-serve testing capabilities and shared responsibility.
• Embed Shift-Left & Shift-Right with Observability to monitor production health.
• Apply Testing Pyramid across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers.
• Define and execute testing strategies for security, resilience, and performance.
• Strengthen product observability by tying test outcomes to metrics, logs and traces.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and promote continuous quality improvement.
