Job summary

NRL Recruitment is seeking a Project Quality Control Engineer for a site-based role in Leicester, supporting quality control across welded and machined components, supplier documentation and inspection processes.

The role requires CSWIP 3.2/3.1 WI or PCN Level 2 WI, experience reviewing weld schedules and QC plans, and a strong knowledge of ISO 9001. You will liaise with customers, manage supplier documentation, and coordinate with internal and external inspection teams.

Qualifications

• CSWIP 3.2/3.1 WI or PCN Level 2 WI required.
• Proven experience reviewing weld schedules/maps with weld procedures.
• Knowledge of Quality Control Plans and Inspection & Test Plans for welded and machined components.
• Experience liaising with suppliers and reviewing manufacturing documentation.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and QA/QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with customers to define and align quality assurance, control, and inspection expectations.
• Review and approve supplier quality documentation including QCPs, weld schedules, and NDT procedures.
• Attend supply chain kick‑off meetings to ensure clarity around quality and documentation standards.
• Produce and assign inspection activities, coordinating with internal and customer inspection teams.
• Carry out inspection assignments, including risk assessments and witnessing NDT or functional tests.
• Review and endorse supplier documentation throughout the project lifecycle (NDT reports, weld schedules, EC&I test documentation).
• Ensure accurate recording and timely reporting of all inspection activities.
• Support ongoing concurrency and verification of Life Time Records and final release documentation.
• Advise project and supplier teams on quality control requirements and compliance risks.
