Our client, a leader in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer for a contract position within their Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) line of business in Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer advice, support, and assistance on all Quality Assurance and Quality Control matters.
- Support the Principal Quality Engineer in driving objectives to meet or exceed targets, including LPS/KPI goals, QL4 effectiveness, and timely supplier and customer RCCA.
- Contribute actively to IPT requirements, ensuring timely delivery of compliant products that meet all cost and safety requirements.
- Support the creation of Quality Plans that define quality assurance activities aligned to Risk, Opportunity, and Improvement within the Programme and associated Projects.
- Provide leadership to the Assurance Teams to meet Programme and IPT objectives.
- Ensure LPS goals for Quality KPIs are achieved by supporting improvement plans and managing key activities.
- Lead the Assurance function's improvement plans across all phases of the Programme, Product, and Project Lifecycle.
- Mentor others to grow Quality excellence within the Programme/Projects.
- Attend and contribute to key meetings, including IPT morning meetings, DPU forums, Engineering WO meetings, etc.
- Ensure timely processing of concessions, production permits, IDN requests, CoC signoffs, Receiver requests, and CoAs.
- Support the achievement of quality assurance milestones within the Programme, Product, and Project lifecycle.
- Deliver reports and supporting data to the Programme, Project, and function in a timely manner.
- Manage root cause and corrective action investigations, taking lead on key MRBs, FRBs, SCARS, and customer complaints.
Job Requirements:
- Further education and experience ideally in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or Defence Electronics.
- Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Practical experience with Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification, and First Article Inspection.
- Ability to harvest complex data into actions with practical solutions that support business goals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all business functions.
- Experience working with customers and suppliers.
- Experience in a high precision manufacturing environment.
