Job summary

Digital Gurus is partnering with a UK clean energy organisation to recruit a Senior QA Engineer. You’ll own QA within a development team, combining hands-on automation with mentoring colleagues and shaping testing practices.

You’ll build automated tests, integrate testing into CI/CD, and work with developers to resolve defects while contributing to performance, security and accessibility testing.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automation experience in software testing.
• Experience with Playwright or Selenium or similar tools.
• Understanding of CI/CD and testing integration into pipelines.
• Experience mentoring colleagues and owning quality in a team.

I’m working with an organisation in the clean energy sector whose work supports the UK’s transition towards net zero. They’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer to help make sure the software behind that work is reliable, resilient and properly tested.

You’ll take ownership of QA within a development team, combining hands-on automation with the opportunity to influence how testing is done. There’s also a mentoring element, making this a good fit for someone who enjoys supporting other engineers alongside their own technical work.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building and improving automated test coverage, working alongside an experienced QA team.
• Getting involved early in development to identify risks and shape the testing approach.
• Bringing automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support reliable releases.
• Investigating defects and working closely with developers to resolve the underlying issues.
• Contributing to performance, security and accessibility testing.
• Supporting other QA Engineers and improving testing practices across the team.

What you’ll bring:

• A strong background in software testing, with hands-on automation experience.
• Experience using Playwright & Selenium or similar tools.
• An understanding of CI/CD and how testing fits into the development process.
• Experience mentoring colleagues and taking responsibility for quality within a team.

Experience with performance testing tools, security testing or accessibility would also be useful.
