Job summary

CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles) is seeking a QMS Senior Engineer in Newport, UK. This role focuses on ensuring the effective implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System according to IRIS standards. The ideal candidate will lead compliance audits, manage quality initiatives, and support a quality culture across operations.

Essential qualifications include experience in a Quality role, a relevant degree, and proficiency in quality management systems. The position offers robust benefits including generous annual leave and contributions to a pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Experience with QMS implementation and maintenance (e.g. ISO 9001, IRIS).
• Experience of internal and external audits, including corrective action management.
• Ability to deliver technical training in classroom and practical environments.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the site’s QMS in alignment with corporate policies.
• Lead internal and external audits and manage the closure of open points.
• Create reports on QMS performance to support site quality objectives.

Skills

Experience in a Quality or Manufacturing role within a quality‑focused industry

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages

Proactive approach to problem‑solving

Ability to work autonomously

Education

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Sciences or a related Field

Tools

Quality problem‑solving tools (e.g. 8D, CAPA, SCRA, 5‑Why)
