Job summary

SPT Labtech in Cambridge, UK, seeks a Senior Quality Control Technician to join the Melbourn team. In this hands-on role you’ll own testing processes, drive QC method improvements and collaborate with QARA, Development and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure high-quality consumables and liquid handling products.

You'll conduct in-process and final QC checks, manage incoming stock QC, perform volumetric testing, and develop robust QC methods.

Qualifications

• Experience in Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing environments.
• Strong attention to detail and practical problem solving.
• Experience with volumetric testing or precision measurements.
• Ability to monitor and report quality KPIs with data-driven actions.
• Proficient using MS Word and Excel; ISO 9001:2015 awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead health and safety and ensure policy compliance.
• In-process and final QC checks on consumables and products for dispatch.
• Manage and inspect incoming stock from a quality perspective.
• Perform volumetric testing on liquid handling consumables for precision.
• Develop and improve volumetric test methods and equipment.
• Collaborate with Production, Development, Manufacturing Engineering and QARA to lead RCA investigations and validate new QC methods.
• Track and report global QC KPIs and drive corrective actions.
• Introduce and document new testing techniques to enhance quality processes.
• Support continuous improvement projects and new consumables or market transitions.
• Check parts against specifications and Certificates of Conformity and manage non-conforming products.
