Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a Senior Quality Control Technician for the Sizewell C project in Suffolk. You will lead testing and inspection of concrete and aggregates, manage sampling and testing procedures, and ensure compliance with Heidelberg Materials and EDF standards.

You will mentor QC Technicians, analyse results, prepare technical reports, and work closely with EDF, contractors and production teams to drive quality and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality control, materials testing, concrete, aggregates or construction environment.
• Strong understanding of concrete and aggregate testing procedures.
• Experience analyzing technical data and producing detailed reports.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
• Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practice.

Responsibilities

• Carry out laboratory and on-site testing of concrete and aggregates.
• Sample, inspect, and test materials per procedures and industry standards.
• Analyse concrete batch tickets to verify mix designs.
• Monitor incoming raw materials and assist investigations.
• Prepare technical reports for internal teams, contractors, and clients.
• Supervise and mentor QC Technicians, providing coaching and technical support.
• Coordinate with EDF personnel, contractors, production teams and quality managers.
• Promote health, safety, environmental and quality culture.
