We enable new opportunities for our customers through digitalisation.**Quality Control Technician (QCT) – Sizewell C****Help Build One of the UK's Most Significant Infrastructure Projects**Heidelberg Materials is looking for a **Quality Control Technician (QCT)** to join our team supporting the Sizewell C project. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to quality and safety, and a passion for ensuring materials meet the highest standards.As a QCT, you will play a vital role in maintaining product quality across concrete, aggregates, asphalt, and related materials. Working closely with operational teams, contractors, and technical specialists, you'll help ensure that all products supplied to the project consistently meet customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.## ## What You'll Be DoingQuality Testing & Inspection* Carry out laboratory and field testing of concrete, aggregates, asphalt and related products.* Perform sampling, testing and specimen preparation in accordance with relevant British and European standards.* Conduct concrete testing including slump tests, compressive strength testing and sample preparation.* Inspect incoming raw materials including cement, aggregates, limestone, admixtures and other materials.* Verify material deliveries against specifications and quality standards.* Analyse concrete batch tickets to ensure compliance with approved mix designs.### Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement* Investigate product quality issues and provide feedback to technical and operational teams.* Support preliminary investigations into customer and product-related concerns.* Review site practices and delivery processes to identify opportunities for improvement.* Help maintain product quality levels that meet both customer expectations and commercial requirements.**Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance*** Follow and promote Heidelberg Materials and EDF health, safety and environmental standards.* Actively identify, report and help resolve near misses, hazards and unsafe conditions.* Challenge behaviours that could negatively impact safety, quality or environmental performance.* Support Nuclear Safety Culture requirements and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.* Ensure all testing activities are carried out safely and in accordance with approved procedures.**Documentation & Reporting*** Maintain accurate testing records, calibration logs and quality databases.* Produce detailed technical reports and communicate findings clearly.* Report any quality, environmental or safety concerns promptly to site management.* Ensure all records are completed accurately and maintained to audit standards.**Stakeholder & Project Support*** Liaise with EDF contractors, site teams and office-based colleagues to support project requirements.* Build effective working relationships with customers, contractors and third-party stakeholders.* Participate in site visits to collect samples and assess operating conditions.* Assist with the transportation of test specimens where required.**What We're Looking For****Essential Skills & Experience*** Experience in quality control, materials testing, laboratory work or construction materials.* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.* Ability to interpret procedures, specifications and technical information.* Excellent record-keeping and reporting skills.* Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.* A proactive approach to health, safety and environmental compliance.**Desirable Experience*** Experience testing concrete, aggregates, asphalt or similar materials.* Knowledge of British and European testing standards.* Understanding of quality management systems and technical procedures.* Experience working on construction, infrastructure or major projects.**Qualifications*** Good general level of education.* Understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements within an operational environment.* Level 1 Award Training.* CSCS Card and Triple Bar Nuclear New Build accreditation (or willingness to obtain).* NVQ qualification (desirable).* SSSTS qualification (desirable).* Traffic Marshal training (desirable).* Front Loading Shovel Operator Card (desirable).**Why Heidelberg Materials?**At Heidelberg Materials, we're building more than materials, we're building a sustainable future.
