Job summary

Scrumconnect Consulting in London is seeking a QA Automation Tester with extensive experience in designing, developing and executing automation frameworks across UI, API and microservices-based applications.

You will work to ensure the quality, reliability and performance of government digital services, aligning with GOV.UK Service Standards and DDaT requirements, and you will collaborate across Agile teams to continuously improve testing practices.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience as a QA Automation Tester or in a similar role.
• Hands-on UI automation with Playwright, Selenium and Cypress.
• Strong API testing skills with REST Assured and Postman.
• Proven ability to design and build automation frameworks from scratch.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and contract testing.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Proficient with Git and version control.
• Solid SQL skills and testing relational databases.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automation frameworks for UI and API testing.
• Build or extend automation suites for GOV.UK digital services.
• Develop automated test plans and ensure coverage across functional/regression/integration.
• Identify defects, reproduce with developers, and produce test reports.
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies and mentor junior testers.
