Senior QA Automation Engineer – Cloud-Native FinTech

Job summary

Referment is seeking a hands-on QA/SDET with a track record of owning test automation for a cloud-native product. You will design and implement automated tests across APIs, services and a React front end, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines to deliver fast, reliable feedback.

You will lead performance and scalability testing, review PRs with a quality lens, and mentor engineers to share quality ownership across the team, while keeping security and data privacy in mind, including PCI and ISO

Qualifications

• Significant commercial experience as QA/SDET owning automation for a product.
• Strong programming in Kotlin/Java/TypeScript.
• Hands-on API and UI automation with Cypress or Playwright.
• Experience testing Spring Boot microservices with JUnit and Testcontainers.
• Performance testing with Gatling, k6 or JMeter; monitoring/observability.
• CI/CD integration and testing in Docker/Kubernetes/AWS.
• Solid SQL skills, PostgreSQL preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools.
• Understanding of test pyramid, BDD/TDD, Agile/Lean.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and own automated test suites across APIs, services and React front end.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines for fast feedback.
• Lead performance, load, and scalability testing.
• Review PRs with a quality lens; mentor engineers.
• Consider security and data privacy in testing, with PCI/ISO 27001 considerations.
• Support releases and triage customer issues with Support.
• Exploratory testing of high-risk changes.
