Job description

Are you an experienced Senior QA Engineer looking for an exciting new opportunity in a dynamic and fast-paced fintech environment?

Our innovative payments platform is built using an API-first, cloud-native, microservice architecture written in .NET Core C# running on AWS with serverless infrastructure (AWS ECS + Fargate). We store data in various AWS-managed database engines such as DynamoDB, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DocumentDB. Our CI/CD process is managed by our DevOps team using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, and all services are covered by automation tests using BDD. We are also developing an Android application in Kotlin to run on Ingenico Android payment terminals. Our platform is highly available 24/7, scalable, and secure, having achieved PCI DSS Level 1 certification.

As we enhance our platform and expand our development teams, we seek a Senior QA Automation Engineer to support testing and QA automation for new product features.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Developers, DevOps, and other QA Automation Engineers to test new features using tools such as SpecFlow/Reqnroll, Postman, Playwright, Swagger, Selenium; track bugs with Azure DevOps; and document with Confluence and flowcharts.
2. Analyze business requirements, designs, and non-functional requirements; estimate user stories collaboratively.
3. Promote and maintain an automated TDD and BDD approach across all software solutions.
4. Develop and execute robust test scripts to maximize automation and regression testing within CI/CD pipelines.
5. Perform manual exploratory testing and maintain manual test plans for scenarios unsuitable for automation.
6. Review logs and databases during testing, automating this process where possible.
7. Follow industry best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. Minimum 6 years of professional experience as an automation QA in a modern software environment.
2. Strong experience with REST APIs and API testing strategies.
3. Extensive experience with BDD and a focus on test automation over manual testing.
4. Understanding of the Test Pyramid, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
5. Experience implementing QA tests within a Microservices architecture.
6. Ability to differentiate and identify appropriate candidates for Unit, Integration, and E2E tests.
7. Experience in improving, refactoring, and rewriting tests.
8. Experience ensuring tests run effectively within CI/CD pipelines.
