Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (SDET, Python) to transform quality engineering for terminal and media server software. You will design scalable automation frameworks, test platforms, and CI/CD solutions to improve software quality and release confidence.

You will collaborate with global teams across multiple product generations, driving AI-assisted quality engineering and rapid feedback while mentoring engineers and contributing to technical decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
Strong Python development experience.
Proven SDET/automation engineering background.
Experience designing reusable automation frameworks and test platforms.
Experience operating CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
Strong Linux, networking, and debugging skills.
Experience in Agile software development environments.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable test and validation platforms for Linux and virtualized environments.
Build production-quality Python frameworks, libraries, services, and tooling.
Develop automation solutions for integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
Define and evolve automation architecture; own CI/CD infrastructure and pipelines.
Lead investigations into complex failures and mentor engineers.
