Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (SDET, Python) to transform how quality engineering is delivered across terminal and media server software platforms. You will design and build scalable automation frameworks, test platforms, CI/CD solutions, and intelligent tooling.

You will work with global teams across the US, APAC, and Europe to advance automation, promote best practices, and drive AI-assisted quality engineering and continuous delivery.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Software Engineering in Test (SDET) or related roles.
• Strong software development in Python, including automation frameworks.
• Experience building and scaling automation for large, complex systems.
• Deep understanding of software development fundamentals, design, and testing strategies.
• Experience with CI/CD systems and Linux-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test and validation platforms supporting Linux and virtualized environments.
• Build production-quality Python frameworks, libraries, services, and tooling for software quality and efficiency.
• Develop reusable automation solutions for integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing across platforms.
• Lead cross-domain debugging, mentor engineers, and contribute to code reviews and technical decisions.
