Job summary

iO Associates invites a Senior Python Developer to join a Government Cyber Unit in London. You will work on critical public services within a ~50-strong tech team, contributing to secure, scalable solutions while collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders.

This 6-month contract requires independence, strong Python expertise, and a proactive, collaborative mindset to protect and enhance government digital services.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience with Python.
• Experience with Python web frameworks, ideally Django.
• Strong knowledge of modern development tools, including Docker, Git and GitHub.
• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience deploying containerised applications.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling, particularly GitHub Actions and/or AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline.
• Understanding of cybersecurity and secure-by-design software development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and protect government-critical services as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to design discussions and code reviews, and share ideas.
• Collaborate with a team of around 15 within a larger group of ~50 developers.
