Job summary

Perforce Software in Bracknell is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, and ship Python-driven CLI tools for IP Lifecycle Management. You will work across IP, workspace, release, update, and snapshot workflows, collaborating with server and QA teams.

You will contribute to AI-assisted development practices, extend CLI integration with Perforce, Git, and SVN, and own features across the CLI and PiCache in a hybrid Bracknell role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with Python.
• Experience with CLI tooling including argument parsing and structured JSON output.
• Experience with Perforce and Git version control.
• Solid testing practice with unit and integration test frameworks.
• Comfort with Linux, Bash scripting and debugging.
• Clear written communication and design documentation skills.
• Nice to have: Python CLI used by engineers and exposure to IP lifecycle/semiconductor domain.
• Nice to have: experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and ship user-facing pi commands and subcommands spanning IP, workspace, release, update, and snapshot workflows.
• Extend the CLI data-management layer with Perforce, SVN, and Git integration.
• Diagnose and fix regressions in CLI integration and unit test frameworks.
• Prototype and productionize AI-assisted development workflows.
• Collaborate with server and support teams to resolve customer errors.
• Own end-to-end features across the CLI and PiCache.
