Job summary

Perforce is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own end-to-end features across the CLI and PiCache within the IPLM suite. You will collaborate with the API and database teams to deliver robust tooling used by semiconductor teams, while supporting customers and resolving complex issues.

This role blends product feature work with systems engineering and modern AI-assisted development practices, including designing commands, extending data-management integration, and producing high-quality test

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with Python as a primary language.
• Experience designing CLI tools with argument parsing, subcommands and JSON output.
• Experience with Perforce and Git version control.
• Strong testing practice for unit and integration tests.
• Clear written communication and ability to document design decisions.
• Comfortable on Linux and proficient in Bash scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and ship user-facing pi commands and subcommands spanning workflows.
• Extend CLI data-management layer, integrating with Perforce, SVN and Git.
• Diagnose and fix regressions in CLI testing frameworks; keep branches releasable.
• Prototype and productionize AI-assisted development workflows for QA and automation.
