The project:

Design of public health systems to meet business, legal, and contractual requirements for government programs, including technical assurance management to ensure design principles are maintained during development and construction. Responsibilities include assisting the client in tender processes, condition surveys, and project handover.

The role requires a passion for building services, proactive problem-solving, and delivering well-engineered projects. The candidate will work on government and public frameworks, developing operational and embodied carbon strategies, and overseeing project delivery as a client technical advisor.

The Senior Public Health Design Engineer will lead the M/E/P design team to meet project requirements, ensuring design quality and compliance. The role includes supporting the tender process, condition surveys, and project handover.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Managing deliverables and team members.
• Providing design guidance and managing development as per contract.
• Collaborating with design disciplines, clients, and construction teams.
• Producing reports and participating in meetings and workshops.
• Ensuring work outputs are timely, in scope, and of high quality.
• Managing team training, appraisals, and career development.
• Promoting C2P, digital, and net zero carbon initiatives.
• Engaging in business improvement and carbon management during project delivery.

You’ll need to have:

• Knowledge of statutory regulations and standards.
• Technical competence in MEP systems.
• Collaborative mindset for integrating energy-efficient designs.
• Strong organizational skills for multiple projects.
• Understanding of project stages, safety, cost control, and site inspections.
• Proficiency with Office 365.
• Flexibility and initiative.
• Effective communication skills.

You’ll also have:

• Chartered status or working towards it.
• Current CSCS card.
• Experience advising clients on technical solutions.
• Ability to present technical info clearly.
• Proficiency in Revit and digital tools.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented work style.
