The project:

1. Design of public health systems to the concept stage, meeting business, statutory, legal, and contractual requirements for government programs, with a role in technical assurance management to ensure design principles are maintained by the contractor through development and construction phases. Assistance in tender processes, condition surveys, and handovers will also be required.
2. A passion for building services, proactive problem-solving, and delivering well-engineered projects. Working on government and public frameworks, focusing on operational and embodied carbon strategies, and overseeing project delivery as client technical advisors.

The role involves leading the design M/E/P team to meet business, legal, and contractual requirements for government programs, with responsibilities in technical assurance, tender support, condition surveys, and project handovers.

You'll be responsible for:

• Managing deliverables through yourself and direct reports.
• Providing design oversight and managing the development of designs per contract requirements.
• Collaborating with other design disciplines, client personnel, and construction teams.
• Producing reporting information and participating in client meetings and workshops.
• Ensuring work outputs are timely, within scope, and of high quality.
• Managing training, appraisals, salary reviews, and career development for direct reports.
• Developing the team in areas such as C2P, digital, and net zero carbon, aligned with company directives.
• Engaging in business improvement initiatives.
• Contributing to the net zero carbon transition and managing associated emissions and reductions during project delivery.

You'll need to have:

• Good knowledge of statutory regulations and standards.
• Technical competence and basic knowledge of all MEP systems.
• Relevant industry qualifications.
• A collaborative mindset to work with architects, engineers, and sustainability consultants.
• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Understanding of project deliverables, health and safety, cost control, value engineering, and site inspections.
• Proficiency with Office 365.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility and initiative in work approach.
• Enthusiasm and adaptability.

Additional qualifications include:

• Degree qualification or equivalent.
• Chartered status or working towards it.
• Current CSCS card.
• Proven ability as a technical advisor, capable of challenging non-compliant designs.
• Experience presenting technical info to non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to use Revit and related digital tools.
