Job summary

Mott MacDonald seeks a Principal Protection & Control Engineer to join our Power Transmission and Distribution team in the UK. The role covers project development, client engagements, fault studies, and relay configuration across diverse transmission projects.

You will work within a global energy unit, supporting the energy transition and delivering secure electricity supplies. A degree plus Chartered status is preferred; UK Grid TP141/NA standards experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification; Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Experience with Protection and Control in electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of relay designs and UK practices; international project exposure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Protection & Control schemes for transmission projects.
• Produce tender specifications and detailed design drawings for P&C.
• Carry out fault studies and derive protection settings from study results.
• Configure relays and advise on commissioning stages.
