Job summary

WPS in Birmingham is seeking a commercially minded Project Quantity Surveyor to join the team and deliver successful projects from inception through to completion. You will develop pre- and post-contract strategies and manage commercial functions to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Quantity Surveying or Project Surveying role.
• Strong commercial awareness with cost management skills.
• Knowledge of construction methods, measurement, and valuation.
• Experience managing subcontractor procurement and contracts.
• Understanding of NEC contracts (preferred).
• Strong financial and analytical skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proactive approach with a focus on delivering results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement pre- and post-contract commercial strategies for projects.
• Deliver projects safely, profitably, and efficiently.
• Manage commercial functions and contract reporting.
• Support procurement, subcontractor management and valuations.
• Produce monthly CVRs and commercial reports.
• Manage cash flow, cost control and value recovery.
• Support the agreement of final accounts.
• Ensure contractual obligations and processes are completed on time.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
• Promote health, safety, environmental and compliance standards.
• Support project teams to achieve commercial and operational objectives.
