Job summary

Empower Advisory UK, part of the BMD Group, seeks a Senior Project Quality Engineer/Project Quality Manager for a full-time, project-based role in Devonport, Plymouth. The role involves QA leadership on a heavy civil construction project with UK/Navy dockyard partners.

Security checks apply, with British citizenship likely required. Hybrid working may be possible occasionally, but regular site attendance is necessary.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in the Quality field OR Civil Construction Engineering.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 / Quality Management Systems.
• High level IT skills including Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & digital filing.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in highly regulated environments.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work to ISO / British Standards and extract relevant information.
• High level of organisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage junior members of the Project Quality Team.
• Interface with the delivery engineers, framework quality team and customer quality representatives.
• Implement and ensure adherence to project procedures, scope, specification, PEP and British/ International Standards.
• Deliver quality related briefings and training across the wider project team.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, procurement team & Stores Controller.
• Assist with writing Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and ensure they are being followed.
• Manage the compilation and review of quality documentation and records.
• Manage Non-Conformance and product quarantine processes.
• Assist with stores control, stock management and product traceability onsite.
• Send contractual communications to the customer via CEMAR.
• Ensure accurate records and trackers are maintained across the project.
• Co-operate with staff and customer representatives to solve quality problems.
• Assisting the project team with ad-hoc duties where required.
