Job summary

BMD Group (via Empower Advisory UK) seeks a Senior Project Quality Engineer to join the Devonport, Plymouth project on a full-time basis. You will work with delivery and project teams to implement QA procedures and ensure conformance to the Project Execution Plan and relevant standards.

This role requires prior quality or civil construction experience, ISO 9001 knowledge, strong IT skills with Microsoft 365, and clear written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in the Quality field or Civil Construction Engineering.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 / Quality Management Systems.
• High level IT literacy including Microsoft 365 and office apps.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in highly regulated environments.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work to ISO / British Standards and extract relevant information.
• High level of organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage junior members of the Project Quality Team.
• Interface with delivery engineers, framework quality team and customer quality representatives.
• Implement and ensure adherence to project procedures, scope, specification, Project Execution Plan (PEP) and British/International Standards.
• Deliver quality related briefings and training across the wider project team.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, procurement team & Stores Controller.
• Assist with writing Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and ensure they are being followed and supporting evidence is up to date.
• Manage the compilation and review of quality documentation, including Lifetime Quality Records, Product Approval Records and project procedures.
• Manage the Non-Conformance and product quarantine process.
• Assist with stores control, stock management and product traceability, including product movements, physical product checks, delivery ticket and Certificate of Conformity checks, and approving products for use onsite.
• Send contractual communication to the customer via CEMAR.
• Ensure accurate records and trackers are maintained across the project, and ensure document control standards are maintained.
• Co-operate with staff and customer representatives to ensure that problems of quality are solved promptly and efficiently.
• Assisting the project team with ad-hoc duties where required.
