Job summary

Crown House Technologies, part of Laing O'Rourke, is seeking a Senior Project Planner (MEP) for the Great Grid Project in Birmingham. Initially based in the Birmingham office during pre-construction, the role transitions to a hybrid arrangement from Q3 2027, spanning Birmingham and project sites as delivery continues to 2031.

You will lead planning across the full lifecycle, collaborating with leadership, clients and suppliers to drive schedule performance, risk management and commercial

Qualifications

• Significant planning experience on complex construction or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to influence teams and provide strategic programme advice.
• Experience leading planning teams and developing integrated project programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and project controls function throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop, maintain and manage integrated project programmes from pre-construction through delivery.
• Produce contract, construction, procurement and short-term programmes to support project delivery.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop efficient construction strategies.
• Monitor progress, analyse programme performance and recommend mitigations.
• Provide programme advice to leadership on commercial and contractual implications.
• Coordinate programme information across clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
• Support resource planning and mentoring of planning professionals.
• Maintain robust project controls, reporting and forecasting.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve performance.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders and represent planning function.
