A leading utility infrastructure company in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Planner to manage project schedules for substation and overhead line infrastructure projects. The role requires over 5 years of experience, proficiency in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, and a solid understanding of NEC contracts. You will be key in ensuring project timelines align with contract obligations and in supporting the overall execution of complex infrastructure works.

The Senior Planner will support the delivery of substation and overhead line infrastructure projects during the construction and commissioning phases. This role involves developing and managing project schedules, ensuring alignment with NEC contract requirements, and supporting cross-functional teams in the successful execution of complex infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
  • Lead planning input during construction and commissioning phases
  • Ensure programmes meet NEC contract obligations
  • Conduct progress tracking, delay analysis and performance reporting (including earned value)
  • Support time impact assessments and extension of time claims
  • Integrate subcontractor schedules into the overall master programme
  • Produce look-ahead programmes, resource forecasts and S-curves
  • Engage with internal teams, clients and third parties to ensure accurate and timely planning information
  • Identify risks and opportunities, and support mitigation strategies

Candidate Requirements:

  • 5+ years of planning experience on utility infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of construction and commissioning processes
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
  • Solid working knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Ability to analyse project delays and provide substantiated claims support
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
