Job summary

NG Bailey is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Project Manager to lead substation renewal and remedial works across the Northern Powergrid network. You will ensure safe, timely, and commercially successful delivery of projects from start to finish, coordinating with Northern Powergrid and internal teams.

The role requires managing multidisciplinary teams, developing programmes, overseeing estimates and costs, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships while upholding safety and quality

Qualifications

• Proven project management experience in utilities, power distribution, or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems, particularly in substations.
• Experience with NRSWA/Street Works requirements.
• Demonstrable experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong commercial awareness, including estimating and cost management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong organizational, planning, and coordination abilities.
• Proven track record of delivering projects safely in construction or utility environments.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Northern Powergrid and key stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates on programme, performance, and project risks.
• Drive a positive safety culture and promote continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications:

• IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• SAP authorization or experience working closely with authorized personnel.
