Job summary

VolkerLaser, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a Project Manager for Major Projects to cover secured projects across the Midlands, Southwest and South Wales. The initial assignment involves restoration work at the Newport Transporter Bridge on a blasting and painting contract for a few months.

This presents a fantastic opportunity for someone with the relevant experience to join a growing contractor with a busy pipeline of work.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in civil engineering or HND.
• Experience in concrete and steel repair.
• Exposure to blasting and painting contracts.
• Ability to produce Work Package Plans and safe systems of work.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations.

Responsibilities

• Overall accountability for safe, compliant and successful project delivery.
• Set project strategy, plans, programmes and delivery standards.
• Own programme, cost, quality and HSE performance.
• Set delivery strategy and manage risks, change and recovery.
• Lead site teams and supply chain to right‑first‑time delivery.
• Control budgets, resources and commercial outcomes.
• Manage client, stakeholder and internal reporting.
• Ensure technical, design and temporary works compliance.
• Drive company values, team development and positive culture.
