CSM2, a specialist equipment manufacturer supplying maritime atmosphere control systems and support services, has an exciting opportunity to join the In Service Support team.

Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager manages projects of various sizes and scales, leading teams within CMS2 to deliver exceptional support services. They are accountable for all In Service Support project deliveries and lead, coach, and develop ISS Project Managers and Engineers, supporting the ISS Technical Manager to provide exemplary support across all customers by delivering on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach a team of ISS Project Managers and Engineers, managing support and contractual elements with revenue responsibility, accountable to the ISS Director.
- Oversee all in-service project activities, customer support reporting, project status, orders, and customer satisfaction.
- Draft and review project proposals ensuring scope, financials, assumptions, exclusions, and dependencies align with CMS2 standards.
- Manage the line of authority for the ISS team and support engineering requirements as needed.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and supply chain resources.
- Manage the UK MOD Support contract (~50% FTE).
- Represent the company in customer meetings regarding project delivery schedules.
- Support development and implementation of in-service support strategies aligning with business goals and contracts.
- Lead customer meetings to resolve issues and identify improvements.
- Handle customer escalations and work towards continual improvement.
- Provide feedback on design contracts related to Serviceability.
- Ensure contractual and project baselines are maintained with effective change management and reporting.
- Collaborate with Operations and Production to ensure planning and delivery meet customer requirements.
- Promote best practices and develop team capabilities for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and monitor KPIs, contract metrics, risks, opportunities, and budgets.
- Manage customer change requests and identify risks, developing appropriate strategies.
- Monitor equipment performance and customer feedback for improvements.
- Engage with stakeholders across the defense industry for effective stakeholder management.
General Activities
- Perform ad-hoc duties supporting business needs.
- Manage internal activities like Ops II Management, MRP, CRM.
- Provide backup support during peak times or absences.
- Maintain professional development and act as a company ambassador.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Essential
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in a complex regulated engineering environment.
- Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing.
- Proven track record managing contracts/projects to scope, time, cost, and quality.
- Strong presentation and professional communication skills.
- Attention to detail, planning, and financial acumen.
- Knowledge of risk management, lessons learned, and business management.
Desirable
- Experience in the Defense Industry.
- Experience managing small teams.
- Background in Marine, Shipbuilding, or OEM sectors.
- Understanding of Matrix Management and ERP/MRP systems.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 or similar QMS and UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience in lean manufacturing environments.
Other Requirements
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to obtain UK security clearance at Security Check level.
