Job summary

Leonardo in Southampton, UK is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a portfolio of complex, customer-delivery and product-development projects in the infrared detectors business. You will report to the Head of Programmes and work within a flexible hybrid model combining office and home working.

Ideal candidates will have proven delivery of multi-project programs, strong leadership, and experience with EVM, risk and stakeholder management, plus an APM qualification or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing multiple, complex projects across the lifecycle.
• Leadership in delivery of projects utilizing EVM with proven performance.
• Experience with R&D/development projects in a technical environment.
• Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams in a custom working environment.
• Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness.
• Excellent customer & supplier relationship skills.
• APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and report on multiple projects within a lifecycle framework.
• Monitor cash flow, earned value, and cost to complete with financial acumen.
• Conduct regular risk and opportunity reviews and mitigate potential issues.
• Coordinate with resource controllers and planners to maintain accurate plans.
• Undertake planning activities to ensure forward load and milestones are realistic in SAP/P6.
• Engage with technical experts and facilitate problem solving and conflict resolution.
• Negotiate with customers and suppliers and contribute to bids and customer requirements.
