Job summary

Carey Group is recruiting an experienced Project Manager for a major heavy civils project at Gartree. You will lead delivery from planning through construction, commissioning to handover, ensuring safety, quality and environmental compliance while coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.

You will drive programme performance, manage stakeholders, and shape the commercial strategy, reporting progress and risk against milestones in a complex, onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing major civils, energy or infrastructure projects
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive programme delivery
• Experience with design governance, BIM compliance and client requirements
• Strong planning, governance and risk management abilities
• Proven track record in commercial strategy, variations and cost forecasting
• Demonstrated safety leadership and continuous improvement mindset

Responsibilities

• Lead project-wide quality, safety, and environmental strategy and improvements
• Provide technical authority and oversee temporary and permanent works
• Manage design governance and BIM compliance across the project
• Oversee strategic logistics, multi-site access, deliveries and interfaces
• Direct procurement strategies and supplier management to maintain programme
• Own the master programme and lead recovery planning and reporting
• Shape the commercial strategy and support cost forecasting and risk mitigation
• Inspire the project team with clear roles, accountability and performance
• Build strong client and stakeholder relationships through structured meetings
• Foster a proactive, collaborative safety-first culture across the project
