Exalto Consulting seeks an experienced Senior Payments Project Manager to lead a remote, 6-month engagement starting ASAP. The role spans card acquiring, PSPs, payment orchestration, and cross-border transformations across EMEA, AMER, and APAC, with ERP integration and vendor management responsibilities.

You will drive business cases, cost modelling, and executive recommendations while coordinating with global providers and internal teams in a fast-paced fintech environment.

• ERP integration experience, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
• Ability to build business cases and executive recommendations.
• Shaping target operating models and global capabilities.
• Strong PM skills: RAID, Change, Vendor, Budget, Governance using Agile/Waterfall.

My Global client are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Payments Project Manager on an initial 6 month contract to start ASAP. This role is fully remote and Inside IR35.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

• Deep understanding of payment gateway architecture and payment processing ecosystems.
• Knowledge of card acquiring, issuer networks, payment routing, tokenisation and digital wallets.
• Understanding of PCI DSS requirements and payment security standards.
• Familiarity with Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), PSD2, 3D Secure and regional payment regulations.
• Knowledge of fraud management tools and payment risk controls.
• Understanding of cross border payments and regional market payment preferences.
• Experience evaluating payment vendors and conducting option assessments, RFPs and strategic sourcing exercises.
• Understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modelling for payment platforms.
• Previous experience delivering large scale payments, fintech, digital commerce, or financial technology projects.
• Proven experience leading end to end payment gateway, payment service provider (PSP), payment orchestration, or payment platform implementations.
• Experience working with global payment providers such as CyberSource, Adyen, Adflex, Stripe, Worldpay, Checkout.com, Ingenico, Braintree, or similar.
• Demonstrable track record managing complex, multi country payment transformations across EMEA, Americas and APAC regions.
• Experience delivering projects involving payment processing, settlement, reconciliation, chargebacks, fraud prevention and order to cash processes.
• Strong understanding of eCommerce and omnichannel payment ecosystems.
• Experience managing third party payment vendors, commercial negotiations, contracts and implementation partners.
• Experience delivering technology and business change programmes involving ERP integration, preferably SAP 4HANA.
• Proven experience creating business cases, investment proposals and executive level recommendations for strategic technology decisions.
• Experience shaping target operating models and global capabilities rather than solely delivering predefined projects.
• Strong Project Management skills including RAID, Change Management, Vendor Management, Budget Controls, & Governance using Agile & Waterfall delivery methods.

This role is initially for 6 months and to start ASAP,
