Senior Project Manager - Defence - London

The Defence Infrastructure Cost Centre provides support to projects that range in complexity and size with our service offerings spanning across Programme and Project Management, Project Planning, Cost Engineering, Risk Management, and Commercial Disciplines. We provide support to the full project lifecycle both pre-contract and post contract, delivering infrastructure projects on behalf of our clients, that range from several hundred thousand pounds in value to major projects and programmes worth over £200M.

We are actively looking to expand the team due to client requirements and have talented individuals join us who will support our Defence client portfolio, whilst further developing their career, working on a range of complex and challenging commissions.

Due to increasing client demand, we are looking to speak with Senior Project Managers to help us assist our clients deliver high profile projects across the Defence Infrastructure Sector.

This role will operate on a hybrid working routine, with time expected in our office and a minimum of two days per week on our client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leading, managing and developing project teams or work streams as part of larger projects and delivering results through others.
2. Commercially aware; experienced in monthly budgeting/forecasting and managing project budgets.
3. Project Business Case formulation detailing project’s objectives, costs and benefits demonstrating to stakeholders of its value.
4. Being responsible for high quality delivery on a client assignment.
5. Demonstrative knowledge and experience in one or more related business/infrastructure sector areas.
6. Building long-term trusted advisor relationships with our clients.
7. Communicating effectively and focusing on efficient, collaborative and quality delivery.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree or HND qualification in an engineering, construction or infrastructure related subject. (Relatable experience will be considered)
• Project management certification (APM/PRINCE2/AGILE)
• NEC PM Accreditations or qualifications would be desirable.

Other essential requirements:

• Security Clearance: Before applying, due to the sensitive nature of these projects, you must be a SOLE UK National who is able to achieve and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC). Many of the clients and projects we support are subject to MoD security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.

Working in teams/site attendance: Turner & Townsend recognises the importance of helping its employees harmonise their work and home life by offering hybrid working, that enable them to balance their working life with other priorities. Currently, we anticipate you being on client sites or Turner & Townsend offices 60% of your time, but this may flex depending on client and business requirements.
