Job summary

SNC Mission Systems UK in St Athan is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead planning, execution and delivery of complex projects that align with customer requirements and business objectives. You will coordinate bids, manage schedules, budgets and resources, and build strong relationships with customers, partners and internal teams.

You will mentor junior project managers and drive improvements in project management processes, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• 8+ years of project management experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
• APM PMQ certification.
• Desirable: Master's degree; PMP or PRINCE2 certification; experience in Defence, aerospace or engineering sectors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate bid submission inputs, approvals, schedules and customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, resources, risk, and communications.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and internal teams as the primary programme contact through bid, award and delivery.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks across bid, prototype and delivery phases, managing impacts to cost, schedule and quality.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams supporting prototype development and technical solution planning to meet requirements and contract award.
• Drive improvements in project management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Manage project scope changes with timely communication, approvals and implementations.
• Ensure projects comply with industry standards, regulations and customer requirements.
• Establish governance, delivery plans, reporting cadence and controls; report progress, risks, financials and resources to senior leadership.
• Mentor and support junior project managers.
