Job Description:
My client a leading public sector organisation based in Belfast are currently looking for a Full-Time Senior Project Manager to join their existing team.
Hours: The hours of work will be hours per week, - Monday to Friday
The client will offer a 6 month post initially with the possibility of extension.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership and Practice Development
- Provide programme/project leadership and management in respect of all identified programmes, corporate projects and initiatives.
- Assist with the development of information systems and processes linked to programmes/projects and initiatives.
- Access and utilise all available evidence in the planning and implementation of identified programmes and projects.
- Development, implementation and review of relevant policies, procedures and protocols.
- Facilitate relevant staff with programme/project development activities.
- Give and receive feedback on performance of self and others, as required.
- When relevant, facilitate others in achieving their personal development goals.
- Engage in professional development as necessary.
- Present the findings from programme/project management activities internally and externally at meetings, conferences and seminars.
- Represent the RQIA as required at meetings and other relevant forums.
- Management Responsibilities
- Provide high level programme/project management capability to the executive team for all identified programmes, corporate and strategic projects and initiatives.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of Authority staff.
- Manage a cohort of programme/project management staff.
- Contribute to the supervision and appraisal of identified programme/project management staff.
- Participate in the induction training of new staff to the Authority.
- To design and deliver training to programme / project management staff.
- Develop a range of plans for delivery of reviews directorate programmes in new areas across RQIA and HSCNI.
- Practice
- Prepare documentation in relation to programmes/projects and initiatives in line with best practice.
- Manage sensitive or contentious issues arising out of programme/project management processes.
- Identify and assess risks associated with programmes/projects and initiatives ensuring the development of appropriate management strategies.
Analyse and interpret a wide range of legislation and complex guidance in order to develop practice, policies and standards.
Education/Qualification
- A university degree or recognised professional qualification and have at least three years' management experience in a senior management
role * .
Or
- Have at least five years' management experience in a senior management role * .
- Hold a project management qualification such as PRINCE2 at Foundation level.
* A senior management role is defined as Band 7 or equivalent which equates to a salary of over
Experience /Knowledge
- Have at least 2 years practical working experience in the management of a project (or projects) using a formal project management method such as PRINCE2 at practitioner level.
- Experience and knowledge in the interpretation of information and report writing.
- Knowledge of HSC organisations and services provided.
- Knowledge of governance, risk management and / or quality assurance.
- Knowledge of the legislation and associated regulations underpinning the work of RQIA.
Competence
- Ability to use Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work to immovable deadlines.
Other Personal Abilities
- An excellent attendance record.
- Ability to respond well in stressful circumstances providing sound judgement and leadership.
- Ability to inspire confidence within the team.
- The post holder may be required to travel throughout Northern Ireland and, on
occasions, within the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, and elsewhere. The successful candidate must hold a full current driving license (valid in the UK) and have access to a car at the closing date or have ** access to a form of transport which will permit the applicant to carry out the duties of the post in full.
