Senior Project Manager (12-month fixed term contract)

Location: Flexible – Offices in Swindon, Fareham, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and London.

The opportunity

Are you highly experienced at the Senior PM level with multi-year experience? Are you solution-focused, able to bring people together at all levels of the organization? Can you establish relationships that influence stakeholders and suppliers?

We are expanding our change team at Zurich and looking for Senior Project Managers to join us on a fixed-term basis, working on critical projects in our Life or General Insurance Businesses.

Key areas include

• Strategic growth and business development, especially HR and TOM change
• IT Risk Remediation / technical delivery
• Regulatory Must-Do’s, particularly Operational and IT Resilience change

Responsibilities

• Translate business objectives into tangible deliverables.
• Collaborate across teams with the customer at the center.
• Work with suppliers and project sponsors on business cases and benefits plans.
• Manage change, resolve conflicts, and plan project delivery aligned with business goals.
• Engage with senior stakeholders and adopt appropriate project methodologies like Agile or Waterfall.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to project teams.
• Share best practices and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain governance frameworks with controls and reporting.
• Support implementation and training activities.

Requirements

Essential: Significant senior PM experience, delivery of IT and business change projects, managing multiple stakeholders, understanding of IT/digital tech, budgets over £1m, experience with third-party vendors, proficiency in project management tools like MSP, and delivery methodologies such as Waterfall and Scrum.

Desirable: Project Management qualifications (e.g., Prince2, PMI) and a background in Financial Services.
