Laing O’Rourke is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a major building package within the Sizewell C civil works programme. Based at Orwell Logistics Park, Ipswich with hybrid working, you will oversee design development, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, while ensuring safety, quality, programme and cost targets are met.

• Experience in regulated environments, ideally nuclear, energy or major infrastructure.
• Strong commercial, financial and programme management capabilities.
• Experience managing NEC3/NEC4 contracts and large supply chains.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to manage complex project interfaces.
• Understanding of quality assurance, health and safety, and environmental management systems.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the overall delivery strategy, Project Execution Plan and construction methodologies for the building package.
• Manage design development in collaboration with the client, consultants and wider Alliance teams.
• Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, change and performance through project controls and Earned Value Management.
• Lead tendering activities, subcontractor selection, contract negotiations and NEC contract management.
• Coordinate interfaces with galleries, backfill, temporary works, earthworks, utilities and adjacent buildings.
• Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, CDM requirements and relevant nuclear project standards.
• Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and contractors to achieve project objectives.
• Report progress, risks, opportunities and recovery actions to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement and apply lessons learned from Hinkley Point C and other EPR projects.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes – Sizewell C – a once-in-a-generation clean energy project that will help power over 6 million homes for decades to come.

Working within the Civil Works Alliance (a partnership between Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke), you'll lead the end-to-end delivery of a major building package within the Main Civil Works programme, helping to deliver one of Europe's largest and most complex infrastructure projects.

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll oversee the successful delivery of the HMX Building, managing activities from design development and procurement through to construction, commissioning and handover. You'll be accountable for safety, quality, programme, cost and stakeholder management, working collaboratively with the client, engineering, commercial and construction teams to deliver a high-quality, compliant and efficient outcome.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience delivering major building projects or complex civil engineering works
• Experience working within regulated environments, ideally nuclear, energy or major infrastructure
• Strong commercial, financial and programme management capabilities
• Experience managing NEC3/NEC4 contracts and large supply chains
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to manage complex project interfaces
• Understanding of quality assurance, health and safety, and environmental management systems
• A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Chartered status would be advantageous
• APM, PMI or PRINCE2 qualifications would be desirable
• CSCS Manager Card, SMSTS and IOSH Managing Safely qualifications would be beneficial
