Job summary

CMD Recruitment seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead a significant site-based programme in Chippenham, Wiltshire. You will own the project from planning through to completion, coordinating multiple departments, managing deadlines and budgets, and reporting progress to senior management.

This hands-on role requires strong stakeholder management within a manufacturing setting. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, drive actions to completion, and produce project documentation

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Taking overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project programme.
• Reviewing existing plans and consolidating them into a clear, structured project plan.
• Developing and maintaining project plans, Gantt charts, progress reports and related documentation.
• Coordinating activities across multiple departments and ensuring agreed actions are completed.
• Working with management and operational teams to identify priorities, risks and critical activities.
• Managing communication with external partners and key stakeholders.
• Monitoring progress against timescales and budgets.
• Providing regular updates to senior management on project progress.
• Ensuring project records, actions and decisions are accurately documented.
• Driving the project through to successful completion.

Project Manager - Fixed Term

Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire

Contract: Approximately 6 months

We are working with an established manufacturing business that is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager on a fixed-term basis to lead and coordinate a significant site-based programme.

You will take ownership of the project from planning through to completion, ensuring that key activities are coordinated effectively, deadlines are achieved and the programme remains within agreed budgets.

The Role

This is a highly visible, hands‑on Project Management position requiring strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.

You will be responsible for coordinating activities across multiple departments, ensuring priorities are clearly understood and that agreed actions are delivered. You will work closely with management teams, internal stakeholders and external partners, providing clear communication and maintaining accurate project documentation throughout.

Key responsibilities will include:

This is a hands‑on role with no dedicated PMO or project administration support, so you will need to be comfortable managing the full project lifecycle and producing your own project documentation and reporting.About You

About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with demonstrable project management experience, ideally gained within large‑scale projects and/or a manufacturing environment.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience managing complex projects from planning through to completion.
• Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• A recognised project management qualification such as APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent practical project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of project management processes and methodologies.
• Proven experience coordinating cross‑functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent planning, organisational and documentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A proactive, hands‑on approach with a clear focus on delivering results.
• The ability to take ownership and drive a project through to a successful conclusion.
