Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager (M&E) in Burton upon Trent to lead a regional portfolio of energy and water projects. You will drive delivery from inception to completion, manage budgets and safety, and develop site teams and client relationships.

The role offers a clear path toward Operations Manager level within a growing engineering business and requires robust commercial and contractual experience.

An established engineering and infrastructure business is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its growing Energy & Water division.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded project leader to take ownership of a portfolio of M&E projects, leading operational delivery, client relationships and team performance across the region. The role also offers a clear pathway towards Operations Manager level.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of multiple M&E projects from inception to completion.
• Ensure projects meet programme, budget, quality and safety objectives.
• Manage commercial performance, forecasting and profitability.
• Provide leadership and development to Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and site teams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Support tendering, bid reviews and business growth activities.
• Drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency and best practice across projects.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior project management or operational leadership role.
• Strong background delivering M&E projects within Energy, Water, Utilities or Infrastructure sectors.
• Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
• Excellent commercial, financial and programme management skills.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Engineering or related qualification desirable.
