Job summary

SP Energy Networks is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Maintenance) to drive and implement maintenance programs for Transmission Operations. This role covers all substation assets and requires developing programs in line with policy and compliance.

The position focuses on delivering efficient maintenance, managing outages, reporting and continuous improvement, with an emphasis on customer service and cost-effective partner collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Working towards membership of a professional institution.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Enhanced knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices.
• Awareness of network development policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of network and business data and network management systems.
• Ability to devise solutions to problems/challenges.
• Operational knowledge of Transmission Substation assets.
• Operational site experience/authorisations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support the Transmission Operations maintenance program.
• Including all substation assets - Transformers, Circuit Breakers, Disconnectors, Earth switches etc.
• Provide and develop maintenance programs in accordance with policies and compliance documents.
• Support the delivery of the maintenance programs with Substation Delivery and Operational Engineers.
• Support Year ahead maintenance plans and in-year optimisation of outages.
• Provide support and development of improvements in processes and technologies for maintenance.
• Support maintenance reporting, tracking and regulatory submissions.
• Contribute as an effective team member and identify ways to enhance delivery.
• Deliver a consistent approach in project delivery and maintenance.
• Focus on continuous improvement through quality processes.
• Identify solutions to problems and areas where performance is not on target.
• Lead in managing interfaces with external partners and contractors.
• Deliver excellent customer service and promote standards within responsibility.
