Job summary

ECHELON ENGINEERS is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Design and Delivery team in the UK. You will take projects from sales handover through to post-commissioning, owning programme, procurement, resource, and customer relationships across mechanical, structural, civil, electrical and control interfaces.

You will balance 3–6 live projects, travel to sites as needed, and report to the Project Manager. The role offers hybrid working and a clear progression path.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years leading projects in engineering/industrial settings.
• Experience delivering multiple projects £100k+.
• Strong planning, procurement and subcontractor management.
• Commercial discipline; comfortable with job costing and variations.
• CDM 2015 and site safety knowledge.
• Ability to read GA drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics.
• Experience using AI tools to speed up drafting.
• Full UK driving licence; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage detailed project programmes; coordinate resources.
• Brief design team and review outputs before procurement.
• Place orders; manage supplier lead times; expedite long-lead items.
• Coordinate civils, groundworks and electrical subcontractors.
• Visit sites; resolve issues; discharge CDM duties.
• Own project margin; cost tracking, variations and cashflow.
• Be main customer contact during delivery.
• Contribute to lessons learned and process improvements.
