Job summary
Orion Electrotech is assisting a leading engineering solutions provider in recruiting an experienced EC&I Engineer to join a growing project delivery team in Birmingham. The role covers electrical, control, instrumentation and automation from concept through commissioning, in regulated industrial environments.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors to deliver high-quality engineering solutions, while ensuring adherence to health and safety and
Qualifications
- Qualified in Electrical, Controls or Instrumentation Engineering through apprenticeship, HNC/HND, BTEC, degree or equivalent.
- Experience in process, utilities, water, chemical, nuclear, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead EC&I design activities through project lifecycle.
- Produce electrical, instrumentation schedules and technical documentation.
- Develop control system requirements and URS.
- Review subcontractor designs, drawings and submissions.
- Support procurement with technical evaluations and supplier selection.
- Coordinate FATs and equipment inspections (switchboards, MCC, PLC/HMI).
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning, attend meetings and site visits.
- Assist tendering with technical input and proposals.
- Ensure work complies with health, safety and quality standards.
