Job summary

High Speed Two Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to deliver the Washwood Heath Depot programme within a highly integrated team. You will coordinate design and construction across multiple disciplines, manage complex interfaces, and drive technical issues to resolution.

The role requires extensive experience on major rail projects, a strong understanding of technical assurance, and the ability to engage specialist input across interfaces.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience on major multidisciplinary rail infrastructure projects.
• Ability to coordinate design and construction across disciplines.
• Strong understanding of technical assurance and contractor design delivery.
• Experience with NEC3 change management (EW, CE’s).
• Experience in a Design & Build or joint venture environment is useful.

Responsibilities

• Act as a primary technical contact for the D&B contractor across depot responsibilities.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activity across design and construction.
• Review contractor technical queries and submissions, directing to specialists.
• Manage technical interfaces between depot works and wider HS2 railway systems.
• Support design and construction assurance; ensure requirements are addressed.
• Coordinate technical risks, assumptions, issues, interfaces and actions through to resolution.
• Develop practical, robust solutions with HS2 Subject Matter Experts.
• Support technical change and assess impact on cost, programme, quality, and delivery.
• Support NEC Supervisor responsibilities within your area.
• Contribute to testing, commissioning, and handover.
