Job summary

HS2 is recruiting a Senior Project Engineer to join the Depots Engineering team in Birmingham, supporting the Washwood Heath depot delivery. The role focuses on overseeing design interfaces across civils, buildings, track and railway systems, ensuring engineering assurance without performing detailed design.

Located in Birmingham with hybrid work (3 days in office/site) and a projected involvement of 7–9 years.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5 to 10 years' relevant engineering experience.
• Experience on large, complex multidisciplinary engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Experience overseeing or coordinating design rather than performing detailed design.
• Background within civils, buildings, mechanical, electrical or multidisciplinary rail engineering.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assure the engineering being delivered across interfaces.
• Understand scope and interfaces and coordinate technical responses when issues arise.
• Act as a key engineering interface between HS2, designers and contractors.
