Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Team Leader within the Grid Technologies Substations Project Management team to drive the end-to-end delivery of substation projects in the UK & Ireland.

You will lead a team of project professionals, ensure governance, manage budgets and schedules, and maintain strong client and supplier relationships.

The role combines hands-on oversight with people leadership, with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in managing engineering projects, ideally within the energy, power transmission, or substation environment.
• Proven experience in leading and supervising professional project teams, with a focus on performance, development, and accountability.
• Strong capability in applying formal project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and full project lifecycle delivery.
• Demonstrated commercial awareness, including responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Well‑developed stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills across internal and external interfaces.

As a Team Leader within the Grid Technologies Substations Project Management team, this role plays a key part in delivering substation projects for major clients across the UK & Ireland. Created to support business continuity and an expanding project portfolio, the position combines hands‑on project oversight with people leadership. The role focuses on guiding and developing a team of project professionals, ensuring robust project governance throughout the full lifecycle, and managing commercial and stakeholder relationships. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Team Leader ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.

What You Bring

• Well‑developed stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills across internal and external interfaces.
• A relevant engineering degree is preferred, with a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification considered an advantage.
