Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Project Manager for Grid Technologies Substations in the United Kingdom. You will lead comprehensive project planning and execution, overseeing financials, risks, and stakeholder engagement to align with strategic growth objectives.

The role emphasizes managing complex, high-budget substation projects with cross-functional teams and delivering on time and quality standards across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of project management experience, preferably in energy/utilities/heavy engineering.
  • Certifications: PMP and PRINCE2 Practitioner.
  • Experience managing complex projects with large budgets and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong skills in project and process management, financial oversight, and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans: scope, schedules, and resources for substation projects.
  • Organize and lead project teams, assign responsibilities, drive progress to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor and report on project status: costs, timing, staffing against plan.
  • Ensure adherence to internal and external quality standards throughout the lifecycle.
  • Manage project closure: final documentation, lessons learned, stakeholder handover.

Join us as a Project Manager in the Grid Technologies Substations division, where your expertise will drive the successful delivery of key substation projects in the United Kingdom. Imagine leading comprehensive project planning and execution, ensuring that every phase of the project lifecycle is managed effectively. You will engage in rigorous financial oversight and commercial management, while proactively managing stakeholder relationships and mitigating risks. Your role will be pivotal in aligning our projects with strategic growth objectives, making a significant impact on our business expansion and continuity.

How You'll Make An Impact
  • You will develop and manage comprehensive project plans, defining scope, schedules, and resource requirements for substation projects.
  • Organize and lead project teams, assigning responsibilities and driving progress to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor and report on project status, tracking costs, timing, and staffing against the plan.
  • Ensure adherence to internal and external quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage the project closure process, including final documentation, lessons learned, and stakeholder handover.
What You Bring
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • You have 5-7 years of project management experience, preferably in the energy, utilities, or heavy engineering industry.
  • You possess certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) and PRINCE2 Practitioner.
  • You have proven experience managing complex projects with significant budgets and cross-functional teams.
  • You demonstrate strong skills in project and process management, financial oversight, and risk management.
