Job summary
SSEN Transmission is seeking a Project Director to lead the Onshore Capital Delivery team's portfolio of high-value transmission projects in Scotland. You will drive delivery, contract strategy, and strong stakeholder engagement while maintaining a safety-first culture and financial discipline.
The successful candidate will manage multi-disciplinary teams, navigate complex environments, and deliver projects on time and within budget, aligning with SSE's values and objectives.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience leading large-scale projects (£300m+).
- Strong commercial mindset with proven contract negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to build partnerships with senior stakeholders.
- Delivery focus under high-pressured, complex environments.
- Commitment to health, safety and wellbeing on site.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of a portfolio of high-value transmission projects (£1bn–£2bn).
- Develop and lead the commercial strategy; negotiate contracts.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders to support delivery.
- Inspire and develop a high-performing, inclusive project team.
- Ensure safety is central; align with SSE safety licence.
- Identify and drive continuous improvements in project delivery processes.
