National Gas is seeking a Project Director - Control Systems to lead a portfolio of essential control system replacement initiatives across the UK. You will drive delivery, governance, and value for consumers while aligning with asset management and digital transformation strategies.

You will guide senior project managers, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. A strong engineering or contract management background is required, with industry leadership

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading complex infrastructure or control system projects.
• Strong understanding of regulatory environments, notably Ofgem’s RIIO framework.
• Able to manage multi-disciplinary teams and large portfolios.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Financial and commercial acumen; degree level education and professional status.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio leadership: plan, execute and deliver multiple control system replacement projects safely, on time and to budget.
• Lead and mentor senior project managers and technical leads.
• Embed safety culture and SHESQ best practices across the team.
• Provide monthly project status reports covering SHE performance, milestones, risk and financials.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders including Ofgem and main works contractors.
• Ensure all projects comply with Ofgem regulatory framework.
