Senior Project Controls Manager
Location: Bristol
Contract Duration: 6 months
Pay Rate: Up to 85p/h (Inside IR35)
Responsibilities
- Establish, maintain, or adhere to specific project controls governance, processes, and procedures in accordance with the customer contract.
- Establish the Performance Measurement Baseline in terms of scope, cost, and schedule, and oversee its ongoing governance.
- Manage scheduling staff to develop, manage, revise, and analyze integrated project schedules across all phases of project execution, including contract partnerships and sub-suppliers.
- Manage or oversee project controls staff responsible for cost management, change management, risk & opportunity management, and document management.
- Provide regular management reports to internal and external stakeholders with relevant, accurate, and reliable project status and forecast information.
- Analyze subcontractor data related to project controls to inform the Project Management Baseline and monitor delivery performance.
- Gather independent evidence to ensure confidence in the project's likelihood to meet success criteria.
- Ensure integration and alignment of project control toolsets across contracts and relevant sub-suppliers.
- Establish and maintain a reliable Earned Value Management (EVM) system, generating and analyzing earned value reports to support informed decision-making.
- Implement ongoing risk management processes and reporting, including schedule risk analysis.
- Support and participate in Integrated Baseline Reviews.
- Maintain and update key project control documentation.
- Ensure effective configuration control at all times.
- Provide weekly and monthly project progress and metrics reports as needed.
Experience Required
- Experience in project controls on complex or major projects or programmes.
- Knowledge of project controls approaches, including planning/scheduling, cost management, risk management, performance management (e.g., EVM), change management, and configuration control.
- Experience applying and ensuring governance measures for project controls.
- Proficiency with project controls toolsets such as MSP, P6, RiskHive, ERP/SAP systems.
- A focus on project outcomes and the ability to motivate others towards shared goals.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including external suppliers and customers.
